What you may not know is that he started drinking at 15 and went 13 years full tilt. By 28, working LA actor, one hand on a fifth of Jack Daniels and a Bible in the other, asking God to take it. Then he met me. Then he made one vow, "I won't lose you to liquid," and white-knuckled the first year of sobriety in Santa Monica AA rooms alongside Matt Perry and Anthony Hopkins. His sponsor was a diamond dealer who made my wedding ring. He's coming up on 24 years sober. If you have ever loved an addict, or are praying for one, this one is for you. Shawn came on to tell you it's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when. And to burn your boats.
